Osita Chidoka, a former minister of aviation, shared the details of his final chat with Herbert Wigwe, the late chief executive officer of Access Holdings.
Using his official X handle, Chidoka posted a remembrance of the late Wigwe on Sunday.
According to the former minister, he asked Wigwe to accompany him on this specific trip to the USA, but Wigwe jokingly declined.
Remember that Wigwe, the father of Wigwe University and co-founder of Access Bank, along with his wife Chizoba, son Abimbola Ogunbanjo, and attorney, were all reported dead in a helicopter crash on Friday.
Reports state that on Friday night, the helicopter crashed close to a border city between Nevada and California on its way to Las Vegas.
Every person on board perished in the accident, according to the US government.PDP chieftain Chidoka, a business magnate, informed him that he had an appointment with Wigwe last Thursday during their most recent conversation.”
We had a scheduled meeting for last Thursday. “Osita, I am flying into Abuja with the VC on Thursday. After our meeting, I am heading back to the US,” I informed her. “Herbert, what are they chasing after you? You travel a lot these days; biko, take me with you.”
“Osita, you can not keep up with my pace,” he remarked, laughing. Just enjoy your peace. We bid each other farewell while laughing. That was the final farewell. He couldn’t make it on Thursday.
“Since I left public office, he has been an amazing friend and supporter of mine.” Twenty-two years ago, his wife Chizoba attended my wedding.”
His son looked up to me because his parents essentially gave me the opportunity to mentor him.”
