At a timber factory in Ijebu-Ode, a Chinese national known only as Yespon is presently at large after he is accused of shocking one of his father’s workers, Kelvin Godwin, with an electric shocker.
The incident was found to have happened last Tuesday at approximately 530 p.m. at a timber forest on the Ijebu-Ode-Owa Express Road.Our correspondent received information that Godwin, a factory worker, was charged with stealing flour believed to be in the possession of Yespon’s father, Yenchingin.
The two got into a fight over the stolen flour, and during the altercation, the fugitive suspect allegedly pulled out an electric shocker and shocked Godwin, knocking him out.It was discovered that the victim was treated for medical attention at a nearby hospital right away by fellow factory workers, including Yespon’s father.
According to a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the event, the suspect left the scene after allegedly committing the crime.
Omolola Odutola, the public relations officer for the Ogun State Police, confirmed the incident when contacted on Sunday. She informed our correspondent that the Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters had stepped up efforts to apprehend the suspect who was on the run.
According to Odutola, there was a claim that Godwin had stolen flour from the factory where he works.
According to an investigation, Yespon’s father owns the factory. After allegedly shocking Godwin with an electric shocker, the suspect left the area.
