“On Thursday, March 28, during passenger clearance at the screening point of Terminal 11 of the MMIA, NDLEA officers at the Lagos airport, in collaboration with men from the Department of State Services, intercepted Chidinma, an outbound passenger on Qatar Airways from Lagos to Doha.

“It was discovered through preliminary investigation that Chidinma was based in Qatar but visited Nigeria in December of last year for the Christmas holiday.

The consignment for the trafficking to the Arab nation was given to her at the Club Dice Hotel in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos, she claimed, prior to her return to Doha.

Babafemi also stated that on Tuesday, March 26, NDLEA agents detained Monday Okeke and Chigozie Emeka in the Oniwaya, Yaba, and Agege areas of Lagos. During their arrest, the agents found 842,560 opioid pills, primarily tramadol, as well as 15 liters of codeine syrup and 596 grams of Molly at their disposal.

In the Oniwaya, Yaba, and Agege areas of Lagos, on Tuesday, March 26, NDLEA agents apprehended two suspects, Monday Okeke and Chigozie Emeka. The suspect, Abubakar Mohammed, 33, was found in Lankaviri village.Officers from the NDLEA detained Nwachukwuu Chinedu, 28, in Abia State on Friday at Akara Ahuba, Isikwuato LGA. 46.65 kg of cannabis, various amounts of tramadol, methamphetamine, and rohypnol, and N71,500 in cash were found on him.In the Sabon Gari area of Kano, a 30-year-old female suspect named Chinasa Christopher was taken into custody with 400 bottles of codeine syrup.

Meanwhile, along Isua/Kabba Road, Idoani area of Ose Local Government Area, Ondo State, at least 127.5 kg of cannabis loaded in a Volkswagen Vento saloon car marked NTT 215 AA was recovered.In a follow-up operation on Tuesday, Babafemi stated, “The owner of a consignment of illicit drugs intercepted along Zaria-Kano Road, Bakura Goni, was arrested at Mile 2 Market in Lagos and flown to Kano to face charges.

” The 73.8 kg shipment of cannabis and tramadol that was being transported from Lagos to Kano was previously intercepted in a truck.

While 3,065.255 kg of the same psychoactive substance was destroyed on two farms at Amahor Waterside Forest in the Igueben area of the state, where three suspects—James Thankgod, Wisdom James, and Akpa Festus—were arrested on Thursday, 278 kg of cannabis headed to Idoani in Ondo State was recovered during a raid at Oloma-Okpe forest, Akoko-Edo LGA, Edo State.
