Zacchaeus Salawadeen, a 33-year-old freelance photographer, was fatally stabbed multiple times in front of his three children by suspected thugs.
Salawadeen was allegedly followed by the thugs to his home in the Tundun Fulani Area of Minna, the capital of Niger State, where they fatally stabbed him.
The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday night after the photographer went home to spend time with his family after wrapping up his work for the day.
It was reported that he was taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital and upon arrival, his condition was officially declared fatal.One of the locals claims that after the killers broke into Salawadeen’s apartment and killed him, they broke into his flat.
It was also reported that the suspected killers had imprisoned other housemates before breaking into Salawadeen’s apartment to murder him.
They allegedly took valuables from the deceased, including a laptop and camera.When contacted, Wasiu Abiodun, a spokesman for the Niger State Police, confirmed the incident and stated that exhibits had been removed from the scene and that an investigation had been started.
According to information provided to Bosso Division, at approximately 03:30 on the same day, 33-year-old Zacchaeus of Tudun-Fulani, Minna, was attacked in his home by an unidentified person or people who robbed him of valuables and stabbed him. After being taken to the IBB Hospital, he was pronounced dead.The Bosso Division police officers made a visit to the scene.
Abiodun stated that some artifacts had been removed from the scene and that an initial inquiry into the regrettable event had been launched.
