Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, has reaffirmed that his administration is prepared to work with and assist the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in carrying out its constitutional duties in the state.

At the NSCDC World Day celebration and 71-recruitment Passing Out Parade on Friday at the state headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the governor made the pledge.Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, the Secretary to the State Government, represented Idris, who praised the security group for its efforts in combating crime in the state.

He was pleased with the caliber of skills the graduating corps members had demonstrated and urged them to represent the NSCDC with honor wherever they may be assigned to work.

As the centerpiece of the parade ceremony, the governor announced that the first, second, and third place winners in the men of the corps’ mantling and dismantling of riffles would each receive a donation of N500,000.

“Today, I have witnessed amazing skill demonstrations and superb weapon handling.The governor declared, “Just as we are doing with other security agencies, we are ready to partner with you.”

The state’s NSCDC Commandant, Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa, gave a speech during the ceremony in which he urged the officers and recruits to be effective and efficient in combating criminal elements all throughout the state.

He said that over 6,500 Nigerians nationwide had been successfully recruited by the Federal Government, with 71 of them being in Kebbi State for their passing out parade.

The NSCDC commandant stated that all of the recruits were native to Kebbi State and were thought to be acquainted with the customs, traditions, and topography of the area, which would aid in bringing crime down to the lowest level in the state.

He stated that the recruits had completed the six months of training required for them to be able to perform their official duties with utmost dedication.
